CVE-2022-28763Network attack vector

Session takeover via unvalidated meeting URL destination

Published Oct 31, 2022 · Updated May 2, 2025

Improper URL parsing in affected Zoom clients before 5.12.2 allows remote attackers to redirect clients to arbitrary network addresses. The meeting-link parser accepts a crafted Zoom meeting URL and uses its unvalidated destination to initiate a connection outside the intended service boundary. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious URL; the attacker-directed connection enables follow-on attacks, including session takeover.
