Reflected XSS via unsanitized Denounce preview output
Published Aug 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Apache JSPWiki 2.11.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted request. AJAXPreview.jsp renders Denounce plugin output containing attacker-supplied URLs without sufficient sanitization, reflecting executable markup into the response. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open the crafted request; script execution can read browser-accessible sensitive data or perform actions in that session.
