Authenticated code execution via unsafe deserialization
Published Aug 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unsafe deserialization in DevExpress SafeBinaryFormatter allows remote authenticated users to execute code as the service account. The library deserializes user-supplied data without sufficient validation, allowing the deserialization path to trigger code execution. An authenticated network path to the affected component is required; successful exploitation runs code with service-account privileges.
