Stored script execution via unsafe Markdown rendering
Published Apr 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in JetBrains YouTrack before 2022.1.43700 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through Markdown. The Classic UI Markdown renderer fails to neutralize embedded JavaScript before placing rendered content in the page. Execution requires another user to view the crafted Markdown, after which the script runs under the YouTrack origin with access available to that session.
