CVE-2022-2865Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized imported label colors

Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025

Stored XSS in GitLab before 15.1.6, 15.2 through 15.2.3, and 15.3 through 15.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. GitHub project import accepts attacker-controlled label color values from a custom GitHub host without sanitizing them before rendering the labels page. An API-scoped personal access token and a victim who views the imported labels are required; the script executes with the victim's client-side authority.
