Viewer data exposure via rendered issue HTML
Published Apr 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in JetBrains YouTrack before 2022.1.43563 allows remote authenticated users to expose viewer data. Issue descriptions render attacker-supplied HTML without neutralizing script-related tags before presenting the content in a viewer's browser. Exploitation requires a low-privileged user to save a crafted description and another user to view it; the published assessment limits the consequence to confidentiality loss.
