Code execution via out-of-bounds IFC parsing
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in the IFC parser in Bentley Systems MicroStation 10.16.2.034 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The parser reads past the end of an allocated buffer when processing crafted data in an IFC file. Execution requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file and runs in the current process context.
