Administrator-level file disclosure via unchecked download path
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in WPvivid Backup & Migration before 0.9.76 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The wpvivid_download_export_backup action accepts traversal sequences in file_name and uses the resulting path to return file contents. Administrator-level WordPress access and a valid nonce are required, and successful exploitation exposes readable files without changing them.
