Stored script execution via unescaped version field
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Frappe ERPNext 12.29.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script when another user opens a crafted PDF view. The account-settings last_known_version field stores attacker-controlled markup, which the PDF view renders without neutralization. Any logged-in account can plant the payload, but execution requires another user to open the PDF view, exposing data and actions available to that browser session.
