Heap corruption via Phone Hub manager use-after-free
Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
Use-after-free in Chrome OS Shell in Google Chrome before 104.0.5112.101 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through UI interactions. MultidevicePhoneHubHandler can replace a uniquely owned fake Phone Hub manager while PhoneHubUiController retains its raw pointer, which cleanup then dereferences after the object is freed. Exploitation requires specific user interface actions, and the published record establishes no post-corruption outcome beyond attacker-controlled heap corruption.
