Stored XSS via unfiltered movie names
Published May 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in SpringBootMovie 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted movie name. The administrative movie-add path accepts and persists the submitted name without filtering, so the stored value is rendered as executable page content. Administrative access is required to plant the payload, and another user must view the stored movie entry in a browser for the script to run in that viewer's session.
