Root shell via unfiltered deviceList command injection
Published May 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in Tenda AX12 firmware 22.03.01.21_cn allows remote attackers to obtain a root shell through setMacFilterCfg. The handler passes the deviceList form value to doSystem without command filtering, although the CVE description labels the defect a stack overflow. NVD treats the path as unauthenticated and network-reachable; successful exploitation executes commands with the router service's privileges.
