Stack buffer overflow in Matthias-Wandel jhead 3.06 allows attackers to crash the process through repeated filename placeholders. DoCommand passes each input or temporary filename to shellescape; shellescape appends every expansion to the fixed-size ExecString stack buffer without a remaining-capacity check. Exploitation requires local command execution with a crafted command template and a sufficiently long filename; the published proof demonstrates an AddressSanitizer-detected abort, not code execution.
