CVE-2022-2852Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Heap corruption via dangling image callback

Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025

Use-after-free in Google Chrome FedCM before 104.0.5112.101 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via crafted HTML. The AccountSelectionBubbleView::OnAccountImageFetched callback retains a raw pointer to an image view that can be destroyed before the asynchronous image fetch completes. A user must load the crafted page; reuse of the dangling object can crash the browser or execute code within the browser process, without a demonstrated sandbox escape.
