Unauthenticated command execution via bootloader filename
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLink CP900 firmware 6.3c.566_B20171026 allows remote attackers to execute commands via crafted requests. The mtd_write_bootloader function incorporates the attacker-controlled filename parameter into a command without neutralizing command syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation executes commands with the privileges of the affected process.
