Unauthenticated administrative takeover via trusted authCode parameter
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Authentication bypass in TOTOLINK CP900 firmware 6.3c.566 allows remote attackers to obtain administrative access via a crafted login request. The csecgi.cgi login path treats attacker-supplied authCode=1 and userName=admin values as successful authentication in sub_42A2D0 instead of independently verifying credentials. No credentials or user interaction are required, but the device's web interface must be reachable; successful exploitation grants access to its administrative backend.
