Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML upload
Published Apr 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in nopCommerce 4.50.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a vendor-account file upload. The application accepts an HTML payload, derives an .html thumbnail name from its declared Content-Type, and publishes it beneath /images/thumbs at a predictable URL. Exploitation requires the vendor-account application feature and a victim to open the attacker-controlled file; the demonstrated impact is browser-context code execution.
