Authenticated file disclosure via encoded template path

Published Apr 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Arbitrary file read in KiteCMS 1.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to disclose server files through the template editor. The fileedit.html endpoint accepts Base64-encoded path and name parameters and returns the referenced file without constraining access to template files. Backend access is required; the published demonstration retrieves the database configuration file, exposing its contents to the authenticated requester.
