Arbitrary file read via unrestricted directory parameter
Published Apr 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in UCMS 1.6 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through the administrative file editor. The sadmin_fileedit handler accepts attacker-controlled dir and file parameters and reads the resulting path without restricting dir to the web root. The published request includes administrative session cookies, so exposure without an authenticated administrator session is not demonstrated.
