Unauthenticated stored XSS via unprotected AJAX actions
Published Oct 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in the Zephyr Project Manager WordPress plugin before 3.2.55 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through AJAX actions. AJAX action handlers omit authorization and CSRF checks and persist submitted input without adequate sanitization or output escaping. The endpoints are directly callable without authentication or reachable through CSRF, but script execution requires a logged-in administrator to view the stored content.
