Unauthenticated admin access via derived password
Published Apr 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper authentication in Verizon 5G Home LVSKIHP outside devices through 2022-02-15 allows remote attackers admin access via network. The CPE derives the verizon account password from the device serial number and LVSKIHP model string by hashing the concatenation and exposing predictable first and last seven-character fragments. Anyone who knows the serial number can reach the 10.0.0.1 administration site without prior credentials, gaining administrative read, configuration, and service-control capabilities.
