Local privilege escalation via unsecured scanner load
Published Feb 22, 2025 · Updated Feb 24, 2025
Uncontrolled search path in Trend Micro HouseCall for Home Networks before 5.3.1308 allows local users to execute code as an administrator. The log4j scanner process loads a file from an unsecured location, allowing a low-privileged user to place a malicious DLL for privileged loading. Exploitation requires local low-privileged code execution and user interaction; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code with administrator privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
