Code execution via uninitialized IFC parser memory
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Uninitialized memory use in Bentley Systems MicroStation 10.16.02.34 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted IFC file. The IFC parser accesses memory that has not been initialized while processing attacker-controlled file data. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page and runs attacker-supplied code with the current process's privileges.
