CVE-2022-2827Network attack vector

Unauthenticated user enumeration via password-reset parameter

Published Dec 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

User enumeration in MegaRAC SP-X allows remote attackers to identify valid accounts through unauthenticated password-reset requests. A manipulable password-reset parameter makes the API response distinguish whether a supplied username exists. No prior authentication is required; the result supplies account names for later brute-force or credential-stuffing attempts without changing device state.
