CVE-2022-28269

Memory disclosure via stale Annotation object access

Published May 11, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Use-after-free in Annotation processing in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 22.001.20085 and earlier allows attackers to disclose process memory. The Annotation handler operates on an object without validating that the object still exists, allowing access after its memory is freed. A victim must open a malicious PDF or visit a malicious page; Reader 2020 20.005.3031x and earlier and Reader 2017 17.012.30205 and earlier are also affected.
