Code execution via annotation object overwrite
Published May 11, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 22.001.20085 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious PDF. Annotation-object handling fails to validate user-supplied data before writing, permitting a write past the end of an allocated object. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
