Stored XSS via unescaped gallery image alt text
Published Oct 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in MetaSlider Slideshow before 3.27.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a Gallery Image Alt Text value. The Gallery Beta workflow stores the Alt Text parameter without sanitizing or escaping it before rendering the value into page markup. Administrator access is required, and a viewer must load the affected gallery for the injected script to run in that viewer's browser.
