Authenticated file disclosure and service interruption via XXE
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XXE in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.2 and 4.3 allows remote authenticated users to read server files. The dswsbobje SOAP XML parser resolves attacker-supplied external entities instead of rejecting or safely disabling them. Access to the web-service surface and low-privileged credentials are required; crafted entities can expose local files or exhaust resources and interrupt the service.
