Privileged code execution via BiosCfgTool bounds violation
Published Jul 2, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds access in NVIDIA DGX A100 firmware before 22.5.5 allows local users with elevated privileges to execute code through BiosCfgTool. BiosCfgTool reads from and writes to addresses beyond the intended SMRAM bounds while processing SBIOS configuration operations. Elevated local privileges are required, and exploitation can cross component boundaries to disclose information, corrupt protected firmware state, interrupt service, or escalate privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
