Host service interruption via out-of-sequence resource freeing
Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in NVIDIA vGPU software Virtual GPU Manager 14.0 and earlier allows local users to cause a host service interrupt. The nvidia.ko host module continues using a host-side resource after elevated code frees that resource out of sequence. Exploitation requires elevated host privileges and precise control of resource-release order; the published impact is denial of service only.
