Local service interruption via unvalidated escape input
Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows allows local users to interrupt service through DxgkDdiEscape. The nvlddmkm.sys kernel-mode DxgkDdiEscape handler processes attacker-controlled escape input without validating required properties. A low-privileged local user can trigger the flaw without user interaction; the documented consequence is limited to loss of availability.
