CVE-2022-28185

Service interruption via ECC out-of-bounds write

Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in the ECC layer of NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux allows local users to tamper with data or interrupt service. The ECC layer writes beyond an allocated buffer, but NVIDIA has not disclosed the triggering input, function, or corrupted object. A local unprivileged account is sufficient; exploitation can corrupt driver-managed data or make the system unavailable without exposing data.
