CVE-2022-28181Network attack vector

Code execution via crafted shader out-of-bounds write

Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

An out-of-bounds write in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted shader. The kernel mode layer processes the specially crafted shader and writes beyond the bounds of an intended buffer. Exploitation requires a low-privileged regular account over a network; successful corruption can also crash the system, expose information, alter data, or raise privileges.
