Browser script execution via unvalidated device messages
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Cross-site scripting in the web module of Hikvision Hybrid SAN and Cluster Storage allows remote attackers to run script in a user's browser. The module fails to validate malicious commands in crafted device messages before incorporating them into generated web content; Hikvision has not disclosed the affected endpoint or parameter. Affected firmware spans Hybrid SAN 2.X through 2.3.8-6 and Cluster Storage 1.X through 1.1.4, and exploitation requires user interaction but does not interrupt appliance availability.
