Authenticated file read via absolute-path misinterpretation
Published Mar 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Jenkins Continuous Integration with Toad Edge Plugin 2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. Its report-serving fork of DirectoryBrowserSupport treats some crafted paths as absolute on Windows because it lacks the later Jenkins core path-filtering fix. Item/Read permission and a Windows controller are required; successful traversal discloses controller files without reported write or execution impact.
