Code execution via unchecked list parameter copy
Published May 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AX12 22.03.01.21_CN allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router via a crafted list parameter. The SetNetControlList handler passes the unbounded list value through sub_4151AC to sub_4325BC, which copies it into a 256-byte stack variable without a length check. The published proof of concept supplies a management-interface cookie, although NVD rates privileges as unnecessary; successful exploitation permits code execution or a router crash.
