Administrator-password disclosure via incomplete answer-file filtering
Published Sep 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Sensitive-data exposure in Red Hat oVirt Log Collector before 4.4.7-2.el8ev allows local users to obtain the RHV administrator password. The sos oVirt plugin copies engine answer files into a diagnostic archive, but its hard-coded key allowlist fails to redact OVESETUP_CONFIG_ADMIN_SETUP and other password-bearing keys. Exposure requires access to an archive produced by ovirt-log-collector or sosreport; the disclosed credential enables RHV administrator authentication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
