Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via unfiltered path parameter
Published Apr 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Verydows 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files through the backend file controller. The delete action in protected/controller/backend/file_controller.php accepts path[] values and deletes the referenced file or directory without filtering traversal sequences or restricting the deletion scope. Administrative backend access and a valid session cookie are required; deleting install/installed.lock reopens the installation wizard, while other chosen paths can remove application data.
