CVE-2022-27964

Local code execution via unquoted executable path

Published Mar 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Binary hijacking in NetSarang Xmanager 7.0.0096 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .exe file. Xmanager invokes CreateProcessW with an unquoted executable path, so Windows can treat an earlier path segment as the program to run. Exploitation requires high local privileges, user interaction, and the ability to place an executable in a searched path.
