CVE-2022-27949Network attack vector

Secret disclosure via unmasked pending-task templates

Published Nov 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Sensitive-information exposure in Apache Airflow before 2.3.1 allows attackers to view unmasked secrets in the Rendered Templates UI. When the webserver renders fields for a task that has not started, the pending-task path leaves referenced Variable values unredacted instead of passing them through secret masking. Access to the affected task's Rendered Templates view and a DAG whose pending task references a secret are required; the demonstrated consequence is read-only disclosure.
