CVE-2022-27925Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via ZIP path traversal

Published Apr 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Path traversal in Zimbra Collaboration Suite 8.8.15 and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through mboximport. The mboximport endpoint extracts attacker-controlled ZIP entry names without restricting relative paths, allowing files to escape the intended directory and reach a web-accessible location. Administrator rights are required for this flaw alone, and a planted JSP file executes as the Zimbra service account.
