CVE-2022-2791

PLC file upload via unfiltered logic folder

Published Nov 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in Emerson PAC Machine Edition 9.00 and earlier allows local users to place arbitrary files on a connected PLC. The engineering software treats every file written to its PLC logic folder as transferable logic content without filtering dangerous file types. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, user interaction, and a connected PLC; the documented consequence is unauthorized file placement on that controller.
