Logic display deception via unauthenticated project data
Published Aug 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Insufficient data authenticity verification in Emerson PAC Machine Edition 9.00 and earlier allows attackers to display false logic. The engineering workstation does not verify that rendered project logic matches its compiled form, so the two representations can diverge. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction with affected project data; it misleads engineering review without reported code execution or service interruption.
