Arbitrary code execution via out-of-bounds TIFF parsing
Published Jun 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read and write in Autodesk AutoCAD 2023 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted TIFF file. The TIFF parser reads and writes past allocated memory boundaries while processing attacker-controlled image data. Exploitation requires the target to open or otherwise process the file, and code runs in the context of the affected AutoCAD process.
