Memory disclosure via improper buffer-length validation
Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 10 through 12 allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted media file. The sapefd_parse_meta_HEADER_old function in libsapeextractor fails to validate the buffer length before parsing attacker-controlled media metadata. Local processing of the file is required, and the documented consequence is memory disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
