CVE-2022-27821

Service interruption via crafted image parsing

Published Apr 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Samsung Mobile Devices Android 10 through 12 allows local users to interrupt service via a crafted image. The Quram Agif library applies an improper boundary check while parsing attacker-controlled image data, allowing a read beyond the intended boundary. A crafted image must reach the local image-processing path; the documented consequence is service interruption, with no reported data access or code execution.
