HTTPS traffic manipulation via unvalidated server certificates

Improper certificate validation in OWASP ZAP 2.11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to manipulate proxied HTTPS traffic. The HTTPS proxy accepts self-signed, expired, and otherwise untrusted server chains, then issues a browser-trusted substitute certificate without preserving the upstream error. The browser must trust and use ZAP as an intercepting proxy, enabling on-path traffic modification or DNS-rebinding requests to internal HTTPS services.
