CVE-2022-27795

Code execution via unchecked AcroForm object use

Published May 11, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Use-after-free in AcroForms in affected Adobe Acrobat Reader releases allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted PDF. The AcroForm isDefaultChecked path operates on an object without first validating that it still exists, enabling reuse of freed memory. Execution requires a victim to open the malicious file or visit a malicious page, and code runs with the current process user's privileges.
