Code execution via crafted-file stack overflow
Published May 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Adobe After Effects 22.2.1 and earlier and 18.4.5 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted file. After Effects insecurely handles attacker-controlled file data and overflows a stack buffer while parsing it; Adobe has not disclosed the affected parser or operation. Exploitation requires the current user to open the file, after which code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
