CVE-2022-27775Network attack vector

Information disclosure via zone-blind connection reuse

Published Jun 1, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2026

Information disclosure in curl 7.65.0 through 7.82.0 allows attackers to route a transfer over the wrong scoped IPv6 connection. The connection-cache hash key in lib/conncache.c omits the IPv6 scope ID, so otherwise identical numeric non-global addresses in different zones share a pool entry. Reachability requires multiple transfers in one process using non-global numeric IPv6 addresses with different zone IDs; reuse can direct data to the wrong endpoint.
